We are heading back to Jaipur, India for another adventure and learning vacation with Heather Moore of Skinny laMinx.

This is an 8 day Ace Camp where you be will exploring textile techniques, learning about motif placement, repeat patterns, relief printing (thinking in reverse) and gaining insight into how you can work your small business to lead to success.

Moore will be teaching a 3 day workshop about surface printing in Jaipur known as the Pink City located in Rajasthan, Northern India. Think Northern India and it will conjure up colourful images including the Taj Mahal, the holy River Ganges, tigers, turbans, saris, tuk tuks, rickshaws and more...

The group will, of course, have hands on experience printing with their created blocks.

We will be visiting workshops (Indian block-printing studios) with traditional authentic carving and hand block printing demonstration and learn how the artisans print with lessons about the traditions of their craft.  An expert tour guide in Jaipur, will take us on a tour called The Block Print Story - an introduction as well as guide us through various other sites in Old City Jaipur learning about other textile crafts and their history.

For inspiration visit we'll head to Anokhi Museum of Hand Printing and see their comprehensive history of the art of block printing as well as beautiful and historical fabric samples and articles of clothing.

You will also have "days off" to explore, shop or re-visit sites that interest you. Some of the folks from last years trip headed out on an elephant tour one evening and others went for a hot air balloon experience. Our land agent can help you with any of your extra travel experiences and will be on site at the hotel for discussions.

Ace Camp + India | Notes from Angela

  • To travel to India all nations need to obtain a travel visa from their government offices.
  • You are required to get a TOURIST VISA for this Ace Camp.  We will send you information upon registration.
  • India can be overwhelming for the first time visitor. It is not for the fearful traveler nor for the person who is not open to cultures, plans delayed, or a schedule which may go completely and utterly wacky. Participants in this Ace Camp should not be weary travellers.
  • If you prefer a journey free of hassle and without being hectic - this may not be the Ace Camp for you.   Patience is a virtue in India.
  • This is for the calm traveler, the person who wants to travel to India with the safety of a group - but it is also for the adventurer, the person who wants to feel all their senses.  India, as beautiful and exotic as it is can be frustrating.
  • If you have specific allergies (i.e. peanuts, wheat, gluten, dairy, etc.), it will be harder, but not impossible, for you to find food that suits your needs. Many dishes are prepared with dairy and yogurt is often used to temper the spicier dishes.
  • Consult a doctor, nurse or health care provider, or visit a travel health clinic preferably six weeks before you travel. (side note:  If you have any pending health concerns you should contact your health care provider prior to registration of this Ace Camp)
  • Should you have any questions prior to registration please ask here.

There will be no refunds for this Ace Camp due to the planning and logistics involved. When you register be sure to know all you can about travelling to Northern India.

Our group will be staying at the Diggi Palace. Cars with drivers can be accessed through the front desk to take you to various shops and restaurants. Hotel Diggi Palace is in the heart of Rajasthan's famous Pink City of Jaipur. Surrounded by acres of beautifully manicured gardens, this converted haveli built in the 1860s is a haven of peace and tranquility located 5 minutes from the bustling Old Walled City of Jaipur.

It is 14 kms from Jaipur Airport and 1.5 kms from the railway station.
